How quickly can we get started?

Yes! There are a few things that will need to happen in order to ensure everyone’s safety and some other items need communicated like an agreed upon timeline. It’s true, an operating warehouse will sometimes slow down a teardown project. But, we understand it’s necessary to avoid disruption of your business during the warehouse shelving and equipment removal process.

Will you buy and remove everything from our warehouse?

Our specialty is in used pallet racks (uprights, beams, wiredecks, pallet supports), pallet rack accessories (like guide/ guard rail, netting), conveyor systems, mezzanines, and pick modules. If your warehouse also includes different material like

  • balers
  • shrink wraps
  • or lifts,

then we can buy/ remove those as well.

Sometimes material is in bad shape or is a very uncommon size or outdated brand. In some of these cases we do not purchase the materials, however we still can provide you with our teardown services to remove the materials from your warehouse. Once we have a good understanding, we are happy to provide you with our recommendations, even if that means not using us.

Will you clean up after you have finished with the shelving and equipment removal?

Absolutely! Removing used warehouse equipment is a messy job. All debris will be properly disposed of and the floors swept.

Will you leave holes in the floor or walls after the removal process?

No. Removing floor anchors does create holes but we take responsibility for grinding them down to be flush with the cement or fill them with cement epoxy.

Buying used warehouse equipment can be a great savings. Used materials handling equipment and shelving can be found at a much lower price than new equipment despite being in similar condition. Before you buy used warehouse equipment, here are a few questions to ask.

What are the sizes, capacities, and styles of the used warehouse equipment?

The first question to ask about the used pallet racks you are considering is about the specifications. This is the information you need to know about sizes, capacities, and style of equipment for your warehouse. We provide this information in PDF format, over the phone and in person. We also welcome you to our Denver sale location to verify the specifications in person.

What is the condition of the used warehouse equipment?

The next question to ask before buying used warehouse equipment is about the condition. When you contact Conesco about one of our warehouse liquidations, we send you photos of the equipment via email. If the condition is stellar or “like new” we definitely say so.

The bottom line for us is this:

  • We only sell equipment that maintains structural integrity so it still functions safely and up to the size’s weight capacity.
  • We encourage you to ask for more photos of the materials and to communicate your expectations of the appearance.
  • Racking and warehouse materials are metal so rust and imperfect aesthetics are common with used materials but structural integrity, safety, and proper sizing is important to us.
  • We do fabricate materials to adjust the sizing to fit your needs. In this case, sometimes a two color variation can be seen on items. For example, uprights where a silver footplate is put on the bottom of uprights after we cut them down to adjust the height.
  • If aesthetics is important to you, then we can work to find used materials of your preferred color and condition.
  • We can can also quote new materials. New warehouse materials come straight from the manufacturer and are in pristine condition.

Does the warehouse liquidation company have a great reputation?

How to measure pallet rack

Pallet Racking is one of the most efficient ways to maximize a storage space and is commonly used throughout many industries. There are many different sizes and weight capacities available that can fit a wide variety of applications. But, when adding to existing pallet rack, it is important to take key measurements in order to match the rack that is already in place. By doing so, this will ensure that new pallet rack being added on will fit with the existing rack.

Measuring Cross Beams

To measure the pallet rack cross beams, first measure from the inside of one upright to the inside of the opposite upright. This inside dimension between the two up rights is the length of the beam. In many instances the measurement will be in one foot increments. For example, many common lengths of beams are 4’, 5’, 6’, 7’, 8’, 9’, etc. Occasionally some beams will fall in between one foot increments. These beams are usually made for custom pallet rack designs or are used for specific applications.

The other key measurement of the beam is the face size. The face of a cross beam is the side of the beam that faces out. The measurement is taken by measuring from the top of the beam to the bottom. This measurement coincides with the weight capacity of the beam. The bigger the face of the beam the more weight it can handle.

Measuring Uprights

There are four measurements that need to be taken when measuring a pallet rack upright. The first measurement is the depth of the upright. This is done by measuring from the outside edge of one side of the upright to the outside edge of the opposite side. Some common sizes are 36”, 42”, 46”, or 48”, but sizes can vary especially if the upright is a custom size. This is called “UPRIGHT DEPTH” 

The next measurement is the size of the column of the upright. This part of the upright is where the beams lock into the upright and can be identified by the holes on it. First, measure the outside face of the column, then measure the inside face.

You should have two measurements that will give you the size of the column. For example, by measuring the face on one side and the face of the other I could get a 3”x3” measurement. The size of the column of the upright coincides with its weight capacity.

Next, measure the foot plate. The foot plate is what the upright columns sit on. They usually have holes that allow for them to be anchored to the ground. To get this measurement, measure the length and the width of the foot plate.

After measuring the foot plate, we take our final measurement of the upright to find the overall height. This is done by measuring from the ground to the top of the upright, or from the top of the upright to the ground. The height is usually in one foot increments, but could also fall in between. Some common sizes are 8’, 10’, 12’ and 16’.

Measuring Wire Decking

Measuring the wire decking is easier once you know the depth of the uprights that that the wire decking will be used with. For example, if the depth of the upright is 42”, then the depth of the wire deck would be 42”.

  

The only additional measurement needed is the width. This is found by measuring from the outside edge of one side of the deck to the other. One common size of wire decking is 42” deep and 46” wide, but sizes can vary.
